im posting becuase i have read that the 6700 proc is rated at 1.28v in cpuz
but ive read the specifications which states its 1.3525. should i raise the vcore to match this? perhaps that could be effecting my performance overall?
it is on automatic in bios.

Nah, don't bump vcore unless you need to. The difference in standard vcore is because intel makes new revissions all the time, usually better then the last revision. So you got a V1.28 model and the V1.3525 model is stated, not to worry.

Unless you hit the wall while oc'ing I would advise not to raise vcore as it doesn't help with performance and may shorten the life of your chip somewhat.

Is there a way to tell that you got a V1.28 instead of a V1.3525 CPU, BEFORE you open the box?
