Yesterday I just received a dlink Dl-634m in the mail, which I bought from a guy off the forums. It was reported to be working fine when he sent it to me. The problem is, I can't get it to get any sort of IP. I plug it into my modem, and connect it to my computer, and nothing really happens. The router's lights blink once every 8 seconds or so, but then it seems to reset itself right after. At my computer, it says it is aquiring the network address, but before it can ever get anywhere it is disconnected and restarts itself.
I can't get it to do anything other than this loop of aquiring and reseting.

Is my router damaged? I had a look inside, and cosmetically everything seemed alright. The left antenna was hanging out of its socket when I took it out of the box, but I just popped it back in without any problems.

Did you reset the router ? the old owner might have DHCP turned off . there is a resest button on the router puch that .

Can you login to the web interface ?

I hit the reset yesterday, and just to be sure I tried it out again just now, but still nothing has changed.
and also, I can't get to the web interface.

on most routers you need to hold the reset button in for about 10 seconds or so... just 'hitting' it wont hard reset

Oh yes, I've held in the reset many times for quite a while. Are routers usually damaged so easily?

After playing around with it some more, I still can't get it to do anything. I'm going to see what Dlink support can say about it.
