I'm about to trade my copy of win2000 to my friend for black and white. I have heard this game has a lot of glitches. Can someone who OWNS it please verify if it does, if its still a good game, etc? Also if their patches are any good? thanx

I have the game, but like Tbone1 said the graphics are nice but that's about it.
I have a GF2 MX and it runs smooth @ 1024*768 16Bit (I could probably run it @ 32Bit).
Only played it twice or so, If I were you I wouldn't trade it.
Get a real game like RTCW or UT GOTY (~$10).

I have a geforce2 mx400 64mb card and had no problems with the game.

Maybe you like it, I would ask your friend if you could try it.
But even if you like it, I still wouldn't trade it.
I mean what did WIN2000 cost?

And they always make it look better, example: Movie trailers are always nice, but when you watch the movie you've already seen most of the action (the best parts).
Microsh** does the same, they always tell you how great the new OS is and once you have it you find out that it isn't really that great.

Don't believe the hype - P.E.

hell if you want UT I will trade you for a w2k disk! I even have the guide for UT. I didn't like B&W but it is geared towards the sim type people anyhow.

Its a very pretty game, but if you wanna play a game along those lines, play The Sims. Least the people in The Sims learn as they go, and there are no annoying gods to yell at you whenever you intrude onto their territory.

I liked it, I still play it. It works with a voodoo64 and a nvida16.
I never had a problem with any glitches.

Black and White was an awesome game, while it lasted! I had problems with the game before the patch came out, but have to admit I was more than happy to restart it, more than once. I think I started all over again four times, when I wasn't happy with my creature. I did run into some major bugs, but once I finally got everything going, and got to the final level, I had been playing it for ages and the level was really hard. I only needed one more village, but it was far too difficult for me to put the time into it.

I tried to replay it, later, using my saved games, after I upgraded my computer, and got severe graphical errors. There must've been a hardware setting saved, somewhere, because there were so many artifacts in the game it was unplayable. I would love to go back and finish it, and highly recommend the game if you have patience and enjoy teaching your creature, etc. The effects and such are also incredible, with the transitions between good and evil, especially.

i was addicted to B & W for months when i first started playing it, then i got to a level where the fireballs falling from the sky kept burning my village up , too bad there are not any keyboard shortcuts for that game instead of usuing a mouse for everything.

oh yeah make sure you have a nice fast computer and the game will run perfect, i first played it with a cyrix III 600 with 128 megs of ram and a geforce 2 mx 400 vid card, gawd it was hard to play since the mouse movements were not smooth at all, then i played it on my celeron 900 @1.2 384 megs ram and geforce 2 mx400 and it was a great game, now with my current sig, i could have freaking half the map filled up with my villages and i get no slow down in the game.

I've been playing Black and White for a couple months and I like it. It does move pretty slow, almost too slow, so if you get bored easily you might not want to get it.

http://www.bwcenter.com has tons of downloads for the game.

I liked the game a lot and im finally about to get a good computer so i can play it!! I wouldnt trade it for windows2000, just buy the game if you want it, i bet you could get it for 30 bucks. I don't think you can really compare it with the sims, though I've not played that. its a lot more focused on the balance between good and evil. btw, i had it run really nice on my brothers Athlon slot 600/192mb ram/TnT2 M64 32meg.
