They work with the X1950XT's in Vista. Finally!

Tried installing it last night on Vista 64 and it hosed it. Is there any programs that anyone knows of the cleans drivers in Vista 64 yet? I can try to uninstall the drivers again tonight to see if that will work as well after I recovered.
My first major issue with ATI drivers in a long long time.

I've tried installing these 7 times now on Vista 32, and no go each time. The installer doesn't even ask to reboot when finished. When I reboot myself, I either get blue screens on windows login, or there's just no CCC at all, and stock Vista gfx drivers are installed. I've even gone into safe mode 3 times, deleted every ATI file and folder, every registry entry, ran driver cleaner, and now when I try to install, it thinks I already have CCC and a newer set of ATI drivers installed.
And now I can't even get the older 7.2's to install correctly...

Do a system recovery man. Its a life saver. Hope you don't have it disabled.

seem like it's more for Vista than XP so I will stick with 7.1. But please let me know how STALKERS play with the new driver.

I think I tried that. Maybe not. It was about 3am when this was going on.
edit: System Recovery on Vista did nothing... Installed 7.3 for XP on my XP Pro dual boot. Driver works fine, CCC still screwed up. Won't run at all. Get CLI-Implementation errors.
Hi, see this thread http://www.driverheaven.net/windows-radeon-display-drivers/133161-who-has-probs-bsods-vista-7-3-a.html many of us are having the bsod issue. ATI are working on it...

Well ment use system recovery so you could reinstall at least 7.2 drivers.

I don't have these official 7.3's, but a week earlier I downloaded the "beta 7.3's" off of some Russian site, and now I can play CS Source in Vista without having to run a ghetto XP ati driver in Vista under compatibility mode with XP. :D
I stopped getting a random "catalyst has encountered a problem" message since I updated from 7.2. No idea what that was.
Sweet Brando. That's enough to get me to update. I have that error about 10 times per day.
edit/update:
So far so good!!!
Fixed my glitch where my 3d quality sucked until I closed the tray icon and restarted the runtime (had to do this everytime I started windows).
Also fixed the other problem I had when Catalyst Control Centre has stopped working error would come up about 20 times per day. I have had the error 0 times so far!!
Yay, I'm happy with this update. For once, I don't have any complaints.
edit2: First reboot, blue screen of death!!! Keeping the drivers, but we'll see if it continues.

Well, my motherboard ended up committing suicide Friday night, so that may have been part of my overall problem with getting things to work. Got my new motherboard today, Abit AT8 32X, and installed these drivers just fine on XP this time. Nothing wrong so far.
Have to call MS and get a new license for my academic copy of Vista Business before I can try it there again.

UGH!! STILL can't use regular ATI drivers on my Acer 5672wlmi.

Now that you mentioned it, so have I. I used to get that while watching video files, and occasionally while gaming. Man that was annoying. I guess I didn't really miss it when it went away. ;)
Has anyone noticed the way XP boots up with the 7.3 drivers?? It seems to stall for a few seconds at the blue 'welcome' screen. I have tried reinstalling the drivers and all that but its still there and seems to be related to the CCC. Otherwise so far Im not having any issues with the driverset.
