Spotted this on Gizmodo, fantastic deal considering shipping is free. Shaves at least $25 after the Newegg price (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009102) after shipping.

The links are for different monitors, not sure what the differences are besides contrast ratio and model number though.
I've had the model from Newegg for a few months and I really like it. It arrived with no dead or stuck pixels and the thing is huge compared to my old 19"
I had to turn the brightness on it all the way down to 0 and the contrast down to 20 before I liked the picture though, it is extremely bright out of the box

The pigs simply insinuate you'll be happier than a pig in poop.
Next time I'll use Guinea pigs to illustrate my point :bday:

I think that you would but IMHO you have an even better option. While the height pixel wise of a 17" and a 22" are about the same, 1024 vs 1050, their physical height is different. If you where to get a 20.1" the physical as well as pixel height of the monitors would be about the same allowing you to run dual or tri monitor setups better then with a 22." Also the only advantage of a 22" over a 20.1" is physical size, which is a disadvantage as well due to pixel pitch, but in your case it would not play as well with your current set up. Also the panels and specs of most 22" monitors are beaten by their 20.1" counter parts. Although this is a great deal on a 22" in your case I would go with a 20.1" so that you can continue to run multiple monitors more effectively.

well they effectively talked me into buying a bigger monitor. But I am thinking more along the lines of the Dell E228WFP unless they can talk me out of that and into something else with some more pictures of pigs :)
I just checked the specs of my sony monitors I am running. 20ms response time. And I play fps. A LOT!

^ IMHO if you want a 22" and dont want to pay a lot for the 8 bit phillips panel the acer panel that this thread is about is the way to go, not the dell.
However as I mentioned before in your case I think that a 20.1" would suit you better if you want to continue to use one or both of your current 17" monitors with the new one. I believe this because a 20.1" monitor would match the height of your old 17" monitors where as if you went with the 22" it would be phyically larger then the 17" which would throw off the size of windows when spanning multiple monitors. Also a 8 bit 20.1" monitor is cheaper then a 22" 8 bit monitor and usually for the cost 20.1" monitors have better contrast ratio, color reproduction, etc.
once you go past 22" you run into the 24" panels which tent to cost $500+ and have a res of 1920x1200. Basically with a 24" monitor you see more pigs but you pay a lot more to see them. 24" montiors are high end where as 20.1" and 22" monitors have a good price/pig ratio.
However no matter what you eventually upgrade to you should end up as happy as a pig in the mud, and any 20.1" or 22" monitor should be a major upgrade.
oh ya you should buy this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290068982787&category=100&ssPageName=STORE:PROMOBOX:CUST) on ebay it makes any monitor better

I am not planning to use my 17" anymore if i get a new one. And honestly I want something big. I find myself leaning in a lot to see someone in day of defeat. I am pretty sure I want a 22". It is just that I have heard that the dell is a better montior (construction-wise at least). What are the benefits of the phillips though? Yea I know 16.7m colors instead of 16.2 but I AM colorblind so it is a moot point.

If you get the Dell, make sure you find a coupon, when I bought my Dell widescreen I had an expired coupon and I called Dell, the Dell sales guy didn't accept the coupon, but he did offer me the bottom line price that saved me about $85 below their listed sale price and he gave me free shipping and ate the tax.
It was like buying a used car with the haggling, with the money you save you can by more canned pork and beans
PS, You could always sell the two 17" LCD's you have to recoup some of your money.

actually i will be giving them both to my parents.
And if anyone finds some coupons for the dell give me a shoutout.
