modem problems

Hey guys I was owndering id anyone could help me out with two problems that keep me from enjoying my pc to the fullest. The first is: My modem wont work, so far ive tried two modems, the driver install just fine and I cand dial in to an isp but when I am dialing the other end will never pick up all that happens is the modem dials. I know its now the phone # because my other pc can dial in to the same number just fine but my primary comp wont! any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Turn on the sound on the modem, and make sure it is actually dialing. The problem has to be on your end, since the other computer will connect.

You might switch modems between boxes to see if the problem one works fine in your other box.

i agree with klosters till you troubleshoot the modem on at least another pc you are batting into the wind

i got a modem here that was fine for 2 years then kept getting msgsrv32 error but still got on line just a annoyance
i had a usb external spare so gave it a try VOILA! sorted:burn:

Well, I tried using the other modem, and it still doesnt work! what will I do?
