i have been searching google forever and i am tired so i post my question here. I want to buy a 1.4 athlon. Overclocking it is a must. if i buy a Type B (200Mhz) then the ratio is 14X100 a better CPU right? i could overclock maybe 13X150 or something like that. if i bought a Type C (266Mhz) ratio 10.5X133 i would have a less powerfull CPU correct? Basically why is the 1.4 type C proccessor more money than the B? THx

Welcome to the Forums.

The type C is designed to work with DDR motherboards. I wouldn't say that it is less powerful than the type B. It all depends in which way you mean more powerful. A higher FSB can help in some programs such as SETI and Folding. But a higher clock speed (higher mulit) can help in some other programs.

Personally I would go for the type c (266) chip.

It doesnt matter. The only things you need to consider is that the 133 chips are pre-unlocked, and i dont beleive the 100 mhz ones are (not sure on that last statement)

The only important factor in overclocking is 1) luck and 2) a good stepping

a type B axia will overclock similar to a C axia

As will ayhja, eyhja, etc.
