I have 400grit 800grit 1200grit sandpaper (maybe 1500) can i lap a hsf wif a mirror finish?

you'll get a somewhat shiny finish, for real mirror you'll need some metal polish.

I was under the assumpation that you needed 2000 grit or 1500 grit to finih it propaly!

On a grit scale what would the HSF be with its factory finish?

Ie: WBK38 out of factory = 800 grit finish....? Vague but i'm curious!!!

factory finish heatsinks are not lapped, some - more expensive ones are professionaly machine lapped but the rest arn't
