Was there ever a 2GB DDR1 kit that exceeded PC4000(DDR500) spec as standard?

Hmm depends, if you can't get those kits cheaper then a mobo an ram upgrade to ddr2 you can't justify it. But otherwise I don't see why not.
 
I dont think you will find a 2gb kit spec higher than 4000, Ive never saw one that wasnt a marketing gimmick for cebit or ces.

Ours were real but VERY rare as Infineon stopped making the ICs shortly after the release. They were the big brother of the PC3500LL 2 x 1gb and were a slightly higher screen. Most of the Infineon based 3500LL will run about 255mhz+ but probably not a full 275mhz.
