curious if anyone knows what the specs are on this PSU? I have the unit but unhappy with the fan and wanted to possibly change it out with a quieter fan. I know it's an 80 mm but need to know what to look for in a silent version.
thx
If you change fan it will void any warranty that this psu has.

yea I know, but buying a new PSU and shelving this one is less rational.

It's a Protechnic Electric MGT8012UB-R25 fan. The manufacturer lists it as an ultra high speed, 2 ball bearing 80x80x25 fan. Rated at .66A. They don't list cfm/dBA. A similar fan might be a Thermaltake Smart Case Fan. At high, it is rated at .70A/75.7cfm/4800rpm/48dBA.
If you buy a 1k ps you better need the power. If you need the power it needs cooling. A slow/quiet 80mm fan won't cut it if that's the case.
If you don't have a power hungry system you might want to get something quieter, such as a Corsair 620w ps. I know, get 2 of them if you need power and want quiet:) You can always sell the OCZ...
