I personally like XP's stability however its appearance is a matter of preference and to be honest I am still undecided about it, I have not encountered any driver problems at all using XP and consider that the compatibility mode a great feature for running older software. The standard Win XP runs like a three legged dog, and needs some serious tweaking to improve performance, and only then does it become nice to use imho.
While some people had major trouble with Windows Me I personally never did when I had it and would say that it was not as bloated as WinXP and felt a great deal faster on most things.. however since moving to NT based OS's I have not seen the 'blue screen' which is rather nice
you are going to love it! ME is horrible IMHO. stay safe adn get back soon. it boots in like 18seconds faster for some people.
Windows XP defintely!
Windows ME was worst than Windows 98 !
At Least IMHO.
Stablity is great if you don't like the default theme go to http://www.themexp.org and get yourself some themes... logon pages.. some wallpaper!
Their desktop themes take only 1% cpu usage too!
Compatibility is great too.
