very low 3dmark scores with quad

ok, I've had some issues since I got the quad, I'm getting very low 3dmark scores, I'm running 2 gts's in sli, with sli enabled, I'm getting less than most with a single card are getting, 8k in 06, is my power supply not able to cut it? I had some issues installing windows with this quad, and have since det if I don't have c1e and tm1/2 enabled windows won't install, any suggestions:confused: I've also noticed anytime I start running a benching app, be it wprime or any somewhat strenuous app my psu fan kicks in and sounds like a freight train, that's what makes me suspect not enough power

Have you tried using a dmm to test the rails during boot and benching?? Could just bet a bad unit.

Well, thats pretty good. Was that through benching as well?

You may want to try benching both the 8800's separately, maybe something is wrong with one of them?

that was with wprime running@3.8, I'll try pulling a card out of the loop this afternoon I guess

ok, with one card in the top slot, it outperforms the sli setup, either card will do this in the top slot, if moved to just the bottom slot it lags seriously, am I missing a bios setting?

is sli enabled in the bios?

I've looked all over the bios and can't find a setting for it, it's enabled in windows through nvidia drivers

Sounds like your SLI isnt setup properly. NM see your board now. POssibly a bios setting, maybe a switch on the board? I would check the manual for SLI setup. Could also be the second slot has an issue, but not likely.

You might check CPU'Z to see if the PCIe slots are running correctly, it's at the bottom of the Mainboard tab under Link Width.

yeah they show 16x, I'm downloading driver cleaner, and am gonna try a reinstall

Do the 2 cards have the same bios revison ?

yeah, same bios on both cards, and the driver cleaner worked :D, 15k in sli now

Clean install, always the first step to good scores :)
