Well, I just saw the stock timings and thought that they were amazing for such a cheap kit.

I am trying to put together some cash to get a P5B-d, E6600, and whatever Ram that I needed.

Since I don't need much fsb for the 6600 then the super tight timings would be great. I know they wouldn't clock much but 3.6-3.8 would be plenty fast for me.

The E6600 will be on water when I get it. ^^^ Good idea? Bad idea?

I don't see a bad idea in the whole thread!

Since both are D9 these should work well at tight timings at 400mhz or loosen them up and run them up a good bit eh?

cant say for sure what they are but i would look at some of these as well.

the firestix may still be d9gkx.if not definately d9gmh.
the ocz is d9gmh(theres also ocz ddr2 1066 at frys for $189)
the crucial is also d9gmh.
all are very good ocers and should have no problems running 3-3-3-x at 400 w/2.1-2.3v.
just thought id give you a few more options if your interested :)
edit:just noticed the voltage on that geil.2.35-2.45!ive never seen ddr2 800 with stock voltage that high.youve chosen a awesome time to buy mem.the prices are unbelievable compared to just a few months ago.

Well, I have always been an OCZ fan so I like the whole 8500 set. I don't like that marketing crap all over them though, ugh. I don't and will never have sli. But, if its good stuff for cheap....?

I know I don't need uberRam with a 6600. But, I would like to be able to run good timings at 400mhz or 440mhz.

you should be able to run very nice timings with any of them really.the ocz at frys is by far the best non rebate deal youll find for d9gmh(and their warranty covers them up to 2.4v!).at 400 you should have no problem running nice tight timings.mine will do 3-3-3-8 @400-425 2.2v but i have to run loose after that 4-4-4-12 2.2v.
