hello,

i only got my setup yesterday and am trying to stress it but its not working!

i have run super pi and am currently doing a torture test with prime 95

im running E6600 vista x64 ( which isnt half bad appart from its tendancy to gobble ram, but that shall be rectified) with p5n32-E sli, scythe infinity cooler and 3 noctua 1200rpm fans.

I havnt done any oc yet. Im currently hitting 50C and idle at bout 36C. before i get started, whats to hot!?

Once you start pushing 60-65C is when it's getting too hot.

i don't understand, what isn't working?

you should use orthos to stress your cpu. it is 2 instances of p95 running at once, one for each core.

Intel TAT does a good job of stressing cpu as well.

Does not report errors, doesn't check stability.

Since he just got his stuff up and running he should be doing rough stability testing right now, and more often than not 100% dual load with TAT in my experience had resulted in me knowing there is something wrong faster than priority 10 Orthos. It would cause any number of things like a restart, bsod, freeze, app shutdown, etc long before orthos would give an error. It's good for quickly testing a setting in these rough sessions. I still recommend p10 Orthos or prime for fine tuning though.
