I'm ordering parts for another cheap SMP rig today and should receive a X1950 Pro AGP to put in a P4a 1.5 today. The Houston farm should be back on line on Sunday nite or Monday. More is on the way.

I've brought a part-time E6600 onboard at work. It does some production work through the week, but Fri-Sun it sits idle. That's perfect considering I lose about a dozen systems due to the weekend shutdown of the building across the lot where most of my WinSMP clients run. I might borg another E6600 for weekend warrior action, but I have to pay attention to how much activity it gets during that time before committing it. I refuse to run it on anything while production work is going on.

almost all the rigs switched back to native linux from win smp now ... and spent some time isolating some problems.

I have never had any failed ddr or ddr2 memory till now ... turns out that i had 1 bad stick in 2 different crucial balistix 800 1 gb kits :bang head
At least they are same part so 1 rma will fix both kits.
I have never had to spend so much time on memory issues in the past.

Some bios updates to the p5w64 appears to have solved some memory/quad issues.

And 2 psu rma's on top of that.

So i should finally get that new ds3 going this weekend, albeit with a 930 until the other x3210 arrives.

Agreed! We're knockin' off the points one million at a time.
I've nearly doubled my contribution from ~6kppd ~12kppd thanks to some great borg systems. Even if we all were able to give 10% more, that'd close the gap by over 60k a day.

My glass is neither half empty nor half full, it's broken. Took another rig off line today. Things are in the works.

Thank you zim01. You're the kick in the ass of team 32 to get this old mule train moving. Hope you stick around past the 16th. Things are just starting to get good.

how much ram does the win smp client use?

It's swallowed up to 320MB+ on me (80MB+ per core). Low end is around 100MB (30MB+ per core).

I got back into folding and have been getting my hands on as many machines as possible. I'm lucky enough to have access to many machines (70+ running at the moment with more getting on board every day) and most should be running 24/7 or at least the greater portion of the day. No SMP rigs at the moment but most are either 2.8 Ghz P4 or 3Ghz P4. Doing what I can for the best team out there.

Hit top 20 in PPD on Extremeoverclocking. Hopefully keep moving up :attn:

Thanks for letting us know ... I was suprised to see an unfamiliar name approching the top 20 yesterday!

You sure make a nice splash on your return to the fold

At this rate we are going to need a top 50 or more to make room for all the power folders :)

and :welcome: back to the fold :)
