I have a new mobo/cpu comin soon, and I was wondering if a 300w power supplie would be enough for what I'm putting in it.
This is what it would be...

Iwill KK266+
AMD XP 1600+
HSF - Alpha PAL 8045 with 80mm fan + 2 case fans
1 HD
1 DVD drive
1 CD-rw drive
1 floppy drive
Voodoo 5 - with 2 fans
1 Ethernet card
1 sb live

I was thinking with the 2 cd drives and the 80mm fan that 300w might not be enough....
Any ideas?

I would say its borderline. If you have a really high quality 300W PSU, then you'll pull it off, maybe ;)

Get at least an Enermax 431W. It will keep you satisfied for a couple of more years. Or go for 600W and stay up to date for 5 more years :D

no a 300 should be enough if its a good one. I heard that some of the guys in here ran like 6 hard drives and a cpu and cdrom drive with a 250 watt.

Hi MoPMatrix,
Like just said into another topic, yes, it's enough, but if you plan to install a lot of case fans in the future, well, I'll go with an Enermax 350w.
