View Full Version : worth the money?
Hello all
i just bought an EVGA ge-force 6600gt agp 8x version
i got it for $40USD
20 to 25 euros i think i suck at conversion
was it worth the money
it is a big improvement over my raedon 9250 and ge-force fx5200
i think it was worth it and wouldnt reget it again what do you guys think?
Raedon 9250 or FX5200 going to a 6600GT is a HUGE jump. Without a doubt worth $40, even if only for Vista and not gaming. (But still good for games of course)

what a bargian for 40 bucks
good find!
well i use it for vista AND gaming and it works VERY WELL i love it so much the more game time i get on it the better it seems to get
after 3hrs or so of f.e.a.r. the core temp was up to 63C so i am happy but i plan to put it into my w/c loop and then what would be the best program/way to o/c it?
p.s. i bought it from my biology teacher lol!!! :))
for future reference
ALWAYS ask star wars geeks for computer hardware!!! :santa: :bday:
also i saw the current price for a new one off of evga $200!!!

That is one huge upgrade well worth it. though i am sure if you are sneaky enough and spend enough time on slickdeals you can find something better.
overall if you are into light gaming that should do you just fine =).
imp:santa:
i can run f.e.a.r. at medium equivilant with 1440x900 resolution (wide screen)
although that 9250 still can play some good fear at 800x600!!!
well if i am to upgrade more then i need to get a new mobo ram and vid card!!!
im on agp!!!

There is the 7800GS ;) Or the X1950 GT AGP ;)
Lots of high end AGP cards, I bet the 8600 GS will come out in an AGP flavour, same with the 8800 GS in a few months simply to provide DX 10 support for legacy systems.
All in all, a 6600GT for $40 is a great deal :) My friend bought one 1.5 years ago for $150. Ouch :(. I bought one 6 months ago for $70, but that was PCI-E...

DAMN GOOD FIND... i bought my leadtek 6600gt agp back in the day for like 150 usd... if you get lucky like i did urs will oc to around 626/1350 :) that was of course with some extra special cooling, a +.05 vgpu mod, and a .1v vmem mod... i did manage to get it up to 650/1400 but it took an extra .1v on top of both the volt mods i already did. great performin lil card, espically for that price. i was able to be about 20% better than any 6800nu or 6800xt agp or PCIE with my 6600gt agp...
and my 6600gt would play bf2 @ medium settings with 4xaa very nicely... with decent high framerates 60-75fps
cant foget my volt mod guide!
