I think its time to unstick some of the stickies and make some new stickies. The current ones have been stuck for awhile and we need a good refresher here to help get new members.

Post your Ideas for new stickies here.

I agree. Some of the stickies are a little out of date. I think that a good faq stickie that was locked so that it doesn't get cluttered would be a useful post to have. The new members stickie is a good one, but it's a mix of the old stuff and the new stuff and seems to be a bit confusing.

I was just poking around GD and noticed that the FAH thread was gone. I guess it was deleted completely. If so we can start a clean thread. I have YMAN's original post saved and I think he does too and a couple of other things that I posted there. If you want we can put that back up unless someone wants to make an informative new recruiting post. I kind of like the starting fresh idea, but that requires more effort. ;) Let's gather around, have a  or 10 and see what everyone thinks.

I asked shadow to clean it up. yman needs to post the thread again. and then it will be stickied.

Get that recruiting post up and done, you guys need the help :) we are in a position to be overtaken ourselves in the Seti Arena and are pushing hard for some new dedicated crunchers as well. If you guys see some post's that need to be taken care of and stuck let me know. I will stick them, anything you guys see as useful. Perhaps a thread for the newcomer on how to properly configure their folding box. Let me know, I am here to help however I may be able to.

Thanks Ebola, and SpeeDJ. I am sure we can get things done soon. It seems that everyone has been really busy lately.

While we are in the spirit of getting things cleaned up we need a couple of things. It's been mentioned before and I mentioned it earlier today but the New Members thread is out of date (1.34) and it still has the Donate your machine posts in it.
Maybe we could get a new thread there?

Here's an idea that I had(The idea of a FAQ thread isn't my idea, but the idea of how to go about it ;)). Let me know what you think. -
It would be good to have a FAQ thread, in addition to the site FAQ. We would need as much help as possible to make a faq thread though since it's extremely difficult for one person to remember everything that should be in there and a few things have changed since the 2.0 client was first introduced.
The FAQ thread does not have to be neat or stickied just yet. It could be something that we contribute to, completely out in the open for all to see and contribute, just for the creation of a FAQ and then take the information from the thread and organize it into a new FAQ thread that has a few posts that are well laid out. ie. Everybody knows something and can contribute in some way. If you ever thought that something should be in the site faq then you can just put it in the faq thread. If you know of any quirks with any particular OS, internet connection type, use of a proxy, version of the client, useful links, scientific information about the project(what is it that we are doing), that sort of thing then post it in the thread. Afterwards we can take it all with a line of credit for everyone who contributed to the information in the faq and combine it to make something very useful and readable. The information in a good faq thread can replace two stickies and help a lot of new people.

This is just an idea. What do you think?? How many would be willing to contribute to something like this?

Sounds good to me. That newbie thread should definitely be cleaned up. I jumped right into this when I first started and just had the www.overclockers.com after my name with no team #. I lost 1 to no team and probably 2 halves trying to figure out how to change the team # Something like that might have been discouraging had I not found out about it until a week later. I don't what I could contribute accept questions but I'll help when I can.

when you come up with something let speedj know and he'll sticky it. if you want some of the current stickys removed or all of them i'm sure it can be taken care of.

How about the New members post here Sticky. Can we clean that one up or just unsticky it and start a new one? Input anyone?

How about just moving the posts from a month ago up to present and using that in a new sticky; that way nobody will lose any postcounts, for those who are concerned about that stuff. That way you can let the older posts just gently fade away.;)

Your saying unsticky the present thread and starting a new one pasting in the last months worth of posts off the old thread? Sounds good if so, just don't know how to copy and paste posts. I think one of those head honchos has to do the unsticking. I jsut feel out place requesting those type of things being a newbie and all;) I was trying for a few yea's or nea's. Anyone else have 2 cents?
