What's up O/C folks! Here is my problem. I have an IBM Thinkpad 1875DMU laptop that I cannot get ethernet, or any drivers installed with WinXP. I downloaded the drivers from Lenovo's site, it will install them, but they do not work. I get a message that the drivers need something else done before they work, have tried the instructions on their site, no luck.

I am attaching a pict of the message I get when I try to install drivers.

Thanks.

IBM/Lenovo deliver drivers as a self extracting zip file. They usually extract to C:\Drivers, so you will need to go there and run the install for the actual drivers.

yea pretty sure erikD is right. By the way you should be able to download update manager from lenovo as well which tells you all available updates for your computer and then downloads them per your request. I personally have had great luck with it but I hear some people have not. So just be cognizant of that.

For the drivers. Go to my computer (right click) -> properties -> hardware tab -> device manager -> network adapters -> your adapter should be listed -> right click -> update drivers and choose the folder that all of those files unzipped too. I believe it should do the rest.

Thanks for the replies. It was as you said, I am not used to manual driver installation!

Thanks again!
