I’m having a problem installing Lord or the Rings Online. When installing, it keeps stopping the install with:
“An error occurred while trying to copy a file: The source file is corrupted.”
I just built the system (see specs belowfor the new system) and have updated windows, drivers, etc. I haven’t OCed it yet. During install the virus scanner & firewall were disabled. At first I thought it was a bad install CD from Fry’s. We returned it and got a new CD and still have the same problem. We did the (very slow) download and got corrupt file errors with that too. Went to the install sticky on the LOTRO.com site and tried all the things there. I’ve been trying for about 2 weeks to install LOTRO with no success. Anyone seen this type of error before?
I noticed that others having this problem seems to be using NEW computer systems. Could the install be bad because of something the install SW doesn't recognize in my new hardware? Could it be loading too fast and corrupting the files during unpacking?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
