View Full Version : Printer cant handle fsb?

ahhh....after i replace the lan card and get my dads celly1.2 up to 1.46 i think all is well, specially since its pretty stable, then i go to print and the darn thing wont work right, back down the fsb and it works...why , ayn workaround?

Everything in your computer is effected, and gets overclocked, when you jump up your FSB. Even your LPT port and serial ports can malfunction at higher speeds.

The only work around is to throttle back. Sorry.

alas, tis what i feared, does LPT1 work on the PCI bus?

if you have another computer just hook the printer up there and use it as a network printer

I believe your parallel and serial ports get their clock signal from the ISA bus. I could be wrong- but anyway, I'd say it's time to upgrade that printer; USB printers are cheap and USB is much less likely to fail due to OCing it. They aren't immune, but they are better than serials.
