I recently bought an assload of memory from an auction so I could get a good deal on some extra memory. I don't need them all and I'm planing to sell them, but I've run across a group of memory that I can't identify as to what type they are. I'm hoping someone here can identify them, they say silicon graphics on them, and they consist of two PCBs plugged together...weirdest memory I've ever seen. Anyway, here are 7 pics of two different ones, if anything looks familiar, please let me know.

Thanks!

Bottom stick on link 4 has a branding similar to the one used by Hitachi. I'd say it is Hitachi. Can you provide a better close-up?

Guarenteed Hitachi from the marking. Same as every Hitachi built product I've seen. A bit rare to see in an enthusiast's hands. I have no idea how they OC.:)

haha, well I don't even know what kind of a system they will work in. They aren't standard PC 100/133, they are far too long. They are even longer then 200 Pin ECC memory (which I have some of that too). I can't figure out for the life of me what they work with and I have no way of testing to see if they work (the auction said they were tested working, but I wanted to make sure before I sold them).

Btw, I actually meant I was wandering what technology this memory was and what it works in :) Sorry for the misunderstanding there

I noticed they say Silicon Graphics on them. Doesnt Silicon Graphics have thier own systems? I always thought the MB, memory, cpu, video card, etc, was all made "in house" and didnt use parts that the general public could get (or afford), or even parts used in the server industry.

yeah I've heard of the company Silicon Graphics, but I never knew if their systems were proprietary, or if they were just power PC, or even x86. At the time I heard about silicon graphics it was at Disney world in the innovation area and I knew nothing about computers at all back then.

I've goolged every number I could find on these sticks and most of the results were literally nothing :\

Nobody knows what this is? Maybe I have something really rare on my hands...now if only I could figure out what exactly I do have on my hands, maybe I could get a lot of money for them haha.

upon some clever googling it looks like that memory might be for something called an Origin2000 which appears to be a hardware firewall or something like that. The part # just above the hitachi name 013-1492-001 showed up with this http://www.bbsolutions.com/sgi/origin.html and appear to be sold as matched pairs

*edit* I think I found an ebay listing for some http://cgi.ebay.com/1Gb-SGI-Silicon...ryZ58361QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

They look similar

lol, I think I just now found that same auction, I guess I didn't search as well as I thought I had.

The origin is a Silicon graphics system that, as far as I know, is a risc workstation used for 3D modeling/rendering. I do know that silicon graphics workstations are what they used to use for 3D modeling and graphic effects for movies for a while. A friend of mine helped me out with this a lot just now, and he seamed to recognize the chips right away :)

grrr...I forgot to say thank you. Thanks for the help with this matter :)
