diamond x1950xtx problems

this card runs at below stock speeds before any overclocking. 3dmark06 scores are half what my intel/nvidia 8800gtx scores are. using catalyst 7.3 drivers and ati tool, ati tray tools, and catalyst overdrive. all 3 overclocking utilities result in some malfunction or lock up. i am new to ati cards as im usually using nvidia. i wanna try this crossfire thing but not til i'm convinced my master card is ready. i am using this card in a dual screen format utilizing both dvi outputs. could this be a prob. are older catalyst drivers better for overclocking? any response is appreciated.

i have the exact same problems as you do, and I also have a dual screen setup
i'm using a 1950XT
i'm unable to overclock my cards reliably, and i'm guessing it's due to some bug in these utilities which surfaces when using dual monitors

i'm able to overclock my card using the CCC Overdrive overclocking utility, but ATT and ATI Tool have been very buggy for me

I have the same Diamond X1950XTX cards in 2 of my computers. I haven't done any overclocking with them but mine have been just wonderful.

Don't feel bad about the 8800GTX beating the waller out of the 1950xtx. That is normal.

sending my card back for replacement. i rec'd a x1950xt x-fire edition card today and it works like it is supposed to. not like the diamond xtx. can keep you posted on the replacement cards performance after it arrives if you like.
