Good free wwII game?

Whats a really good freeware wwII game I can download?
(or one I could get from well...a Trnt site...)
But I'm into good single player games--the multiplayer is fun, but I can do without.

Enemy Territory is free and WWII. I personally can't stand the game. However, it would be worthwhile investing into the MOH, CoD & DoD series.

If you have battlefield 1942, you can download Forgotten Hope (the best ww2 mod out there if you ask me).

I don't care how old bf1942 is, FH will always be my favorite mod/game period.

Right now I'm considering purchasing day of defeat source--is it worth it? Does it have single player missions?
And between medal of honor or the call of duty series-which one would you guys prefer? (for single player and multi player)


and of course--any other game you would recommend? (free or not)

I love day of defeat. I got it with the CS S package for 30 dollars at walmarts. Theres several mods for it, but some people do not like it too much because its so easy to get killed on there.

Dod:s is very fun with friends. It gets rather bland when you play by yourself / not on Ventrilo / TS2 ;).

I used to love it, but after 2 years of Battlefield 2 I can't bring myself to play ET anymore, the tanks on fixed tracks just do my head in.

No, DoD: Source doesn't have single player, I think you can add bots but they don't do anything. I think nearly everybody rates the Call of Duty games far above the Medal of Honour ones, that isn't to say MoH: AA was crap, far from it, it's just that CoD 1 & 2 are amazing.

It's not single player, but there is a single player aspect in that you are levelling up your guys so to speak. www.navyfield.com ww2 naval warfare tactics game.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is probably one of the best games I have ever played to this very day and I can't beleive its free??
Its so good I wont allow myself to play it because I get addicted and dont do other things.

However I will agree that the Tanks and vehicles travelling pn a pre-set course really sucks. However, I love the fact that you can build things and there is objectives that you need other skills....actual skills that get better as you play them! WOW so cool. Games that all you have to do is just shoot people are so lame... I like setting Dyno, and backstabbing people in a enemy uniform, and calling airstrikes, and especially THE FLAMETHROWER!!:eek:

(Im such a basstard with that thing...I love making it to a spawn with a choke point and burning everyone...haha):mad: Im not mad just want the fire...hehehe

Hopefully I never find a real life spawn point then...mu hahahahaha
