Have you all heard doing this (http://www.arcticsilver.com/diode_calibration.htm)? I don't have time to read through it right now, but it looks like it would be especially useful considering the inaccuracies I've seen some people gripe about.

Sadly it doesn't apply to normal AMD systems which are what is normally griped about.

I know that there are some of you that have XPs and Intel chips, however.

The same calibration process will work for XPs once we have motherboards that are capable of reading the internal diode. Check this link (http://www.vanshardware.com/articles/2001/december/011209_AS_Interview/011209_AS_Interview.htm) for the latest from Nevin on the inaccuracy of socket thermistors.

Thanks for the link. I thought that most AMD mobos had support for some sort of on-die thermistor. My bad. :o Guess I'll bump this when more mobos like the Compaq and Siemens models show up.
