This may seem like a stupid question but how the hell do I get my heat sink off without causing undue pressure to my mobo?

I've got a Chaintech 7AJA mobo and a CoolMaster Thunderbird / Duron up to 1.2Ghz heatsink / fan

Someone must be more intelligent than me :)

I've attached a semi good pic as well of what I hope is the area I should be concentrating on...

You need to slide a good flathead screw driver into the slot on the clip. Make sure it is in the slot securely, and push down and tilt the screw driver so as to push the clip down and out, away from the tab it is hooked on. As long as the screwdriver is securely in the slot, you will not slip out.

BTW, by the looks of your picture, the slot for the screwdriver would be on the other side of the heatsink, although it is not too clear...

Also, how's the band going? I just love The Cure!
