I finally just shut down the vmware on my home system and installed the windows smp client.
After 3-4 days of not doing anything, I figure anything is better than that.
Not able to get work, or not network connectivity at all (Internet)?

It failed to turn in a unit after 2 days, and for the remaining two days has been unable to get a new work unit.
Nothing changed on the box and it could browse the internet just fine. I assumed a server had died @ Stanford.
That's a shame to have lost days of production.
I had to switch all my native linux rigs to win smp ~ a month ago when something in my connectivity to stanford got in the way ( i still think it was at stanfords end )
When i added a new router, large linux downloads worked again. So it was either my old rt314 router (which still is working fine for everything else) or the new router which got a new ip address from my isp. At some point, i will try using the old router as my gateway for a linux box to see if it is working again.
It still bugs me not knowing root cuase, cuz it may come back to haunt me again. But at least it works now.
ppd wize, I would not expect a big differrence, if any, between vmware/linux and win smp tho. And certainly, either one working will beat the helll out of a not working one :)
