Went to Zip Zoom Fly to order my corsair 620W PSU instead of newegg because I now am completely disgusted with newegg's UPS, and I refuse to use UPS anymore (not to mention ZZF was cheaper). I even have a preferred account with free rush shipping and my box never leaves their warehouse till 5pm.
Ordered the PSU friday after hours, and when I checked monday morning to see if it had been shipped, I noticed the time it was picked up. 9:30 in the morning!!!! Thank ZZF for 2.99 2nd day air!! All I can say wow, talk about a fast ship. Box arrived at 10 this morning in PERFECT condition....man do I love FEDEX!!!
I don't know, maybe Newegg really does need to look at their courier selection, and give fedex a chance instead of offering them for $5 more than UPS. I refuse to use Newegg when the shipping cost+item (Fedex ground) is more expensive than ZZF's shipping (Fedex 2nd day air 2.99).
I may be using ZZF a lot more from now on :)
UPS? Majority of my newegg stuff comes via Fedex afaik...

Newegg's standard shipping is UPS. They changed a while back. I also have nothing but good to say about ZZF shipping, very fast.
Well. Opinions vary I guess.
Newegg has always done right by me and I cannot blame them for UPS's lack of service at times.. I'll stick with the egg even if shipping is a little slower and a few bucks more.

I certainly can't speak for everybody, but I have ordered, this years accounts, about $4000 USD from NewEgg and every time every order was delivered by UPS :eh?:

In neweggs defense I have had 23 transactions thru newegg.com and have never had any unresolved issues with them. I have had 3 transactions with zipzoomfly.com and have 1 unresolved issue. I agree that every once in awhile (UPS) will be a day latter then they state on their website. However to me Newegg has far better customer service than ZipZoomFly.com. Just my 2 cents.
If you want to get your parts fast then select ZipZoomFly.com
If you want better customer service choose Newegg.com

Agreed, Newegg has better CS, but ZZF has better shipping. It's a trade off that people have to decide on :P.

I've always had better shipping with Egg then ZZF. ZZF requires you sign for it and if you are not there to sign tough ramsticks.

They didn't require me to sign for anything...
FedEx trounces UPS ALWAYS. The fact that NewEgg changed to UPS (when they used to have free fedex express saver on almost every single order), was a huge mistake. I am with you on this one and I have ordered many parts from ZZF instead of newegg because of fedex alone. (especially even when ZZF was only a few dollars more, it was saved in shipping costs)

My girlfriend won't let me use UPS anymore because I complain too much when they come too late (around 5-9pm here). I was suprised when the package was here at 10:10 am. I <3 fedex.

I always liked ZZF. Looks like it is slipping though.

That's quite a hefty negative review amount they're piling up.

newegg gives me everything overnight. 1 day to process, 1 day to deliver, where do you live, and where do they ship it out from?
i personally had bad experiences with fedex to a point where i was about to cuss at the rep, and refuse to sign off fedex packages; ups gets everything on time and perfect.

I haven't ordered anything from them recently so i'll see how they do here when I order an e6600. In my experiance in past deals with zipzoomfly and newegg, it has come down to they both RMA at the same speed and Zipzoomflys shipping is better. So if the price is the same I tend to go with ZZF.

Newegg is perfect for me. I live in So. Cal so its practically next day shipping if the item comes from their so. cal location. Only time I didn't get my items the next day was when the sent some item from their central warehouse.. :(
I don't like reseller ratings for one major reason. For every 100 good things that happen, you will get one good review. For every 2 bad things that happen, you will get one bad review. So unless you had millions of customers with tons and tons of good experiences, you're only going to hear about the bad stuff that has happened. I personally have 10 flawless orders with ZZF and still have not written a reseller rating (why? you have to make an account)

They ship out from cali each and every time (I live in texas). Funny thing is ZZF ships out from cali too.

Actually resellerrating is pretty even on the good and bad. Some stores have actaully awsome reviews. Some you may see it drop/rise here and there as time goes by. Why they have a lifetime rating. Then a six month rating.
As example look at jabtech. He even addresses issues publicly there. Mostly it is good reviews for that store.
Newegg has just a crazy rating. Look how many have spoken.. and going up for the 6 month. Lifetime is not shabby at all.

If a store had a great rating and it is slipping. Means there might be an issue a brewing.
Hey I shopped with ZZF a number of times, no issues. Good or bad, I will be on resellerrating doing my thing rating it. I don't rate where I buy. I leave that for a third party sites.

I actually am siding a little with Vixro here...
Figure in the last 6 months I've shipped around 10k orders and had 21 reviews at reselleratings.. Out of that 21 we have 2 bad (both unjustified imo) so in the last 6 months I have 10% bad reviews and 90% good/ok reviews.
If RR was accurate in the last 6 months I would have 9000 Good/OK orders and 1000 Bad orders (relative to % of reviews)
The truth is, most people don't bother to leave good reviews (and we don't ever solicit reviews) because they got the service they expected and nothing else.
However when someone feels disgruntled they will go out of there way to find places like RR regardless of whether they were actually wronged.
I just bought OCZ memory from ZZF and it shipped out same day so no complaints here.. I'm not allowed to rate them on RR but if I was I would be hard pressed to find anything bad to say.

Overall you have a pretty darn good rating though. You interact with the reviewers too. Which is a plus to most folks looking at them.
As for example that one feller who was a jerk about the PSU. Nothing you could of done or said would of fixed that issue. He was just a jerk.
Even if your six month dips some. It is still a very repsectable rating. Add to the fact, you address any issues.
Edit:
Where else can a comsumer go to give good or bad feedback. Or if a (new) store comes about in a search looking for a prooduct. Seek out information about it..

I don't think the guy who we had the PSU problem with is a jerk, it was unfortunate what happened.. Vendors have to deal with what is a minor issue to us and the end of the world to customers.
My last two bad reviews I feel kinda peeved about..
Lord of shadows review is kinda harsh... Left all 0's for lowest possible score on a $5 part that shipped from Swiftech... A day or so after he ordered he came back and purchased something else because he needed it fast.. I mean you leave a store all 0's surely you would never shop there again ?
The next one by a person named Logick, well that guy commited fraud.
The story goes..
Buys a heatsink and after a month says he can't get it to fit his HP computer.. So I look into it and find him posting all over the place, including here. http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=493604 (he bought the Noctua 12F)
He then files a chargeback with his CC (Lies to them about non receipt), sends back a trashed heatsink and leaves neg on RR stating that the product was defective.
So it didn't fit his HP, He didn't receive it and it was defective !
How did this turn in to a Jab-tech whine festival ??
There are lots of other places to leave reviews..
Pricegrabber, BBB etc

I apologize for steering the thread away from the store the OP wanted to praise. My inclusion of your store was in respect for how you run it. Sometimes lowered ratings are just not justified. Your store happen to fit that mold. Why there was no link like the other. We all know and love your store. :D If it seemed like I was bashing your store, it is far from it. 'Plugging' your store is always a good thing. Seeing you come out of the woodwork to post is even better. Will we see ZZF come here on the mention of thier product? Plus you are a respected member of this place too.
With some stores there is a pattern though. You can kind of determine there might be issues with logistics or how it is run. Sometime a store might be overloaded and not able to handle a large surge in sales. Even a poor manager not caring about how the product is sold, long as the charge is made to the account.
Any peer based review has to be taken lightly. Look how newegg does thiers. Everyone just about, is tech level: high..
Again I did not mean to derail this topic. Though it would be nice to get a stronger user base doing good reivews for stores. It does help those who are looking for a store or two and maye do not know if they suck or not.

Didn't derail it at all, you're just showing that RR isn't always the greatest thing to go by. More people will post negative reviews than positive. It's sad but true.

Not to get back to Jab-Tech's store and RR and how the 6 months' ratings are skewed, it does bring up one important fact. If the 6 month rating has only a few ratings for the last 6 months like Jab-Tech, then the scores will be skewed because of the low total reviews. However, ZipZoomFly is showing over 300 ratings in the last 6 months, not 10. So this makes the 6 months ratings for ZZF quite a bit more representative, IMO. And their 6 month rating is well down from their lifetime rating, which is indicating problems for ZZF to me. And if you read the actual ratings, you will see that poor customer service seems to be a common problem with many of the bad ratings. Some other problems seem to be slow shipping, problems with charging CC's and also poor inventory control with items showing up on the website as in stock but are really on back order.
I've bought from ZZF in the past several times and I never had a problem. Last year I ordered my Corsair 620 psu from them because they were quite a bit cheaper than the Egg and had no problems with that order or even the order before that, which was for some Logitech Z-5500's. But with the recent trend at RR, I personally would think hard before giving them an order.

I have seen peopel that had problems with ZZF.. I have purchased from them about 6-10 times over the last 2 years and NEVER had a problem with them. The only drawback I have seen.. is that newegg will say.. "you package is at step 5 and then you need to wait like 12 hours or so to get a tracking number.. because in actuality it hasnt shipped" Whereas ZZF wont say anything until its out hte door... which since I usually order in the middle of the night... is about 12 hours ;) ZZF is ALWAYS fast for me though
Newegg has 3 warehouses (NJ, CA and TN) , so its more up in the air...

Oh just would like to point out this is not always true. I believe its called Viral marketing. (back in the day it was called a shim). You get a few people to shotgun positive reviews all over the place. nVidia did it with their 7XXX series of cards.. you can still see the effects even on this forum. (Bias note: I am sure that otehr companies have done the same things... nVidia is the only one I know about though)

Any posts I can look at to reference this?
Everyone does this. All Tier-1 manufacturers who have products in the enthusiast market engage in some form of "viral" marketing on a numbe of hardware forums. It's pretty low of someone to not fully disclose their full relationship with a vendor or manufacturer.

Blitz,
I have purchased from both New Egg and ZZF without any problems whatsoever. The reader ratings are a lot of BS in many cases, they only tell one side of the story because most people won't accept that perhaps they were wrong and make lower evaluations because of their own ignorance or expectations. A large percentage of them don't know what they are talking about anyhow and they are all "experts." This is where OC Forums particularly shines because most of you guys have "hands on" experience with a product or there are others here that have.
As long as you know what you want and what you are buying, read the terms of ordering, I haven't had any issues with either company. While ZZF doesn't advertise as large an inventory as New Egg, 90% of their prices are cheaper than New Egg when it's all over.
Both are at the top of my personal vendors list.

Here's what I say.
ZZF has that great 2.99 2day shipping option...for now. Use it always. Because if you do the free shipping, your stuff takes a lot longer and they rarely update their site to reflect order status. Good if you want to order a TON of stuff and not have to pay a huge amount on shipping. A lot less items, no customer reviews and website layout is worse.
Newegg. If you live in/near their warehouses and want your stuff the fastest, this is your best bet if you dont mind paying taxes. Sometimes youll get your item before they email you the invoice! And best customer service of any eTailer out there. Great site, customer reviews are VERY helpful and lots of stuff to buy.
Oh yeah, UPS stinks. FEDEX ftw
