I could've sworn this thread already existed here but I cannot find it through the forum search, so mods please move my thread into the real thread if it exists, thank you.

Anyways, I want to see pics of everyone's folding farms. Let's see what you have.

Here is my home farm:

Think Harlam has some shots of his "Office" that are really cool.

what case is the one on the right? (the one that looks like the chieftech/antec workstation towers w/ the 5 1/4" bays cut off)

Wow, pretty neat and organized folding room there H,. Your dad's cobra is pretty sweet too.

No SMP folding on the N64, but I bet the Saturn could run it "in theory" with no deadlines. That old Sega has dual CPUs (and dual GPUs) so perhaps it could make like five PPD...or it might burn up in the year's worth of time it would take to fold one WU.

Photos of the farm, macbook pro, Quad @ 3.2 Ghz (far right) E6400 @ 2.9, T2600 and the last photo is the old 3.6 HT to be replaced by the system in the next post.

And pics of the system in the works, just need to get one more case fan and load the OS. (This weekend) Will be a Windows SMP folder though as it is my wife's system. Should hit 3.2 Ghz with the setup shown.

So, Harlam, you said this months ago. When are you going to finally update those photos?

I did CJ... back in November. :D

It's primarily the same... I just shift things around from time to time. It's no fun to have these machines if I don't dink with them on occasion. ;) I have to remember that I got into Folding b/c I like OC'ing, not the other way around... no stockers here. :D

Co'mon guys... I know you all have some farm pics around here.

here is an old one ... had it posted before using imageshack but it seems to have disappeared ...

It doesn't look much different now ... you couldn't really tell all the 478's are gone and replaced with c2d's.

Some different ventilation in the window, and a replacement not yet installed to accomodate plumbing ....

harlam357
04-25-07, 10:41 PM
...now that's what I call a (fire hazard) farm! :D Nice digs pete!

It is slightly tidier now since i removed the lan switches ... all the lan cables now run through the wall to the big managed switch in the adjacent room.

A few other holes through the wall (not visible in pic) for all the kvm cables.

It all looks pretty ghetto ... i should take a pic some time with the lights out ... lots of led lighting in there.

The adjacent room is the control centre, 4 kvm's and mice, 3 kb's, 3 lcd's + adjacent bench with usually 1 or 2 rigs on it ... prolly looks even more ghetto :o

Link to pics. Last of the boards are on the way to the house now. Get it finally full and now it is time to start changing out some of the layers. Either down, dead or need to be reconfigured.

Wow, with a little work that white lexan could make nice shelves in a black cabinet. Make a cabinet with 4 pieces of MDF 3/4 inches. Daddo 1/4 inch deep slots in the sides to slide the shelves into. Cut the Lexan to just fit into the slots. Sand and spray paint the MDF with matt black light sanding and applying 3 coats and I bet that would make a nice farm tower.

Thought I double posted there   No Prob.

Thinking of picking up a new folding tower from Uncle Wally tomorrow. They sell a nice looking tall cabinet with a glass door in a Mission Style (Frank L. Wright looking design). It's got four shelves in it for boards and extra space on the bottom for Switches, UPS etc.

@jws- the chip is doing Ok... not where I want it to be. But I'm trying to stable it out at a conservative OC first now. Actually, It is Folding. :D And I hope it runs good here. Gives me a better baseline to go higher... which may require better coolig. ;) Thinking of giving water a try.

@AC- I've got my shopping cart ready to go @ the Egg. :D Looking at an ABIT NF-M2 mobo GeForce6150 (lotta OC'ing options), some CL4 Corsair (2x512) and (of course), the Brisbane 3600. Looking like ~$250 to the door. :D

3x C2D's (6300 in case, 6400 on top, 6600 in middle) and one Yonah+X1950Master (on bottom)

an AC unit (in addition to central air) is needed to cool them in the summer and in the winter i duct (Northern Ohio) outside air to them

(the razor blade is for when i see my summer electric bills  )

That's pretty awesome, what's your ambient room temps with all of the AC on? What's the cpu temps while folding?

Joe Camel
04-29-07, 12:20 PM
70F room summer
65F room winter

Core temps: mid 40's to 50's C
ALL chips OCed and over volted

(sorry, imageshack seems to be having some problems keeping my pics up :-/)

65F seems a little high for winter, or are you conservative with your venting of outside air? in colorado during the winter I can drop the apt to the low 50s just by opening two windows :D
