Hey after i finish a WU i get an error MSG saying cant connect to server.
[02:33:45] + Attempting to send results
[02:34:16] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
[02:34:16] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
[02:34:16] (171.64.65.64:8080)
[02:34:16] - Error: Could not transmit unit 03 (completed April 17) to work server.
what does this mean? am i doing the work units and they just not being uploaded? am i wasting time and WUs? someone please help.
I assume from the server ip address you are trying to connect to that you are running the win smp client?
Do you get that after every wu? If so then your client.cfg may have a problem. Have any wu's been completed and uploaded?
When you configured it did you anwser yes to "allow >5MB" work units?
An SMP wu completed april 17'th will have passed the deadline now.
02:34:16] Couldn't send HTTP request to server (wininet)
This message is typical of IE7 connectivity issues. Rerun config and answer NO to "Use IE settings?" and NO to "Use proxy?"
Stanford is having network problems so we can all expect connectivity issues in the next day or so.

yeah, that was fun to wake up to. Im having some errors too, and starting with the -send all flag causes a crash. Oh well.

what do i fill in for proxy info
If you answer NO to use proxy, as you should, you won't be prompted for proxy info.

I am still having problems connecting on three of the machines I have folding. Here's my message:
[18:57:46] + Attempting to send results
[18:57:56] - Couldn't send HTTP request to server
[18:57:56] + Could not connect to Work Server (results)
[18:57:56] (171.65.103.161:8080)
[18:57:56] - Error: Could not transmit unit 01 (completed April 30) to work server.
I am working from behind a proxy and can assure you that the configuration file is set up properly, as this was working before. Have deleted and recreated the config files multiple times, to no avail.
Should I go about figuring some way to forward the WU to Stanford directly?

Have these rigs ever been able to upload a wu?
if so then what has changed in your software/environment?

No problems uploading units before and nothing has changed. It's strange that all of them stopped working. That's why I thought it had something to do with the server.
Is there another way to upload WU's in the meantime?

I have the same on my windows regular folder (laptop) It's got 3 WU's in the queue going to that same IP. The first one was finished back on April 15th.
Let me know if you figure it out. I'm going to try the no IE setting. (Even though I'm IE6)
There have been a bunch of network problems and server down problems recently at stanford so you may not be able to upload the results until the server is back online
Here is a thread on server .161 status issues http://forum.folding-community.org/ftopic19640.html
Here is a link to the server status page for current server status http://fah-web.stanford.edu/serverstat.html
And a good glace to look for info on ongoing issues for all servers is here

Since the client only retries uploading queued wu's every 6 hours or when a wu completes, you can also try stopping the cleint and restarting it to force an upload attempt. Or even just running the client with the "-send all" flag to just try to upload.

Thanks for the info pscout. I'm gonna try a manual restart of the clients this morning.
