I just downloaded the SMP and have it running for team32. My question is though, how do I set it up to use X% of my cpu usage? I would like to keep it at a constant 30-40% but I am not seeing any usage from my CPU itself in task manager. Is there something I am doing wrong?
Thanks a lot guys.
I am also getting errors like this one:
"Error Attempt #1 to get work failed, and no other work to do. Waiting before retry"
"Folding@Home will go to sleep for 1 day as there have been 5 consecutive cores executed with have failed to complete a work unit"

Windows.
Did you run the install.bat?

30-40% you might not make the Deadlines.

No I did not.

If it uses 30-40% of my total CPU usage? Even on a dual core?
then run it or nothing will ever happen

What do I do in it? :x
You got off on the wrong foot here, WS. Think of shortcuts on a FAH install, as hiding several problems, just waiting for you to stumble into them. :)
Please read and follow the instructions to your FAH client which are linked right next to the FAH client's download link, on Stanford's download page. (From the Main FAH page, just click on downloads.)
You can run any executable program in Windows by just double-clicking on it, inside Windows Explorer (not internet explorer).
Start >> Programs >> Windows Explorer should get you there. (I'm on Linux right now, and I've used my own desktop icon for Windows Explorer (when I am running Windows), that it's tough to recall the old way of starting it.)
Bat files are just like any other executable file.

I ran the .bat, but in it I need a user/password for my computer and since I do not have one, I am having issues. Not sure what I am to do.
Are you running Vista or XP

you will have to set one...in control panel/users
I setup a bata WIN HOME SERVER and it quite frankly told me that if I wanted to use it to back-up a computer I had to have a Password on that computer...so now all my windows based home computers have passwords...

Ok, I got it. Thanks guys.
This is an unrelated issue. But now when I hit CTRL + ALT + DEL it brings up a window for logout/shutdown/ect. I just want it to bring up my tasl manager like it used to... How do I change it back?
Try just right clicking on the bottom panel anywhere that doesn't have a program "in use" button.
Should bring up a dialog window with Task Manager as one of the choices.

I knew to do that, but ctrl alt del was the way i have always been doing it.
ctrl-alt-delete pulls up a window that has task manger on it ... just tab to the button.
But may be easier with right click on task bar
There may be a way to set up a short cut that will pull it up but i have never tried to do it.

WS.. you must have a pw to use the SMP client... I had the same problem myself lol... after you set a password, you can just set windows to automatically log in.. heres a link.. I personally just use the 2nd method :D
