Playstation 3's F@H client has been officially updated today to version 1.1. Right now not much is known about it except.
Confirmed Changes:
1. Increased Speed, Exactly how much though is unknown
2. When in Full Screen Protein view mode you may now zoom in and explore each WU in 3D
3. The Dots on the Map are now Brighter/Larger
4. New Sounds added when viewing proteins.
5. Longer User identity names now allowed.
Seems like a pretty good update if it really does decrease folding times by that much, and only a few weeks after it's release too.

Well, I'm not sure if it's just this WU or not, but it was going to take 9 hours. After the update, 4 hours... Some of it was done, but it was well under 25% so that's quite a speed increase.

Yeah, most people seem to be reporting a drop of about 3-5 Hours on completion time of their WUs. Personally my WU was taking 7 hours before and is still estimated to take 7 hours, but I think it just has not recalculated yet at the new speed. What I am wondering is Stanford going to nerf the points of the WUs the PS3s receive to stick to their 900 points a day rule.
Existing WUs won't change, so they will be very good producers if indeed there is a significant reduction in frame times. Stanford will undoubtedly "upgrade" to 1.1 and new WUs benched under v1.1 of PS3 FAH will go back to 900 ppd, unless they decide that wasn't enough in the first place.

I completely forgot about that in this update, will add it to the list.
v1.1 does appear to be a lot faster, going from 250-300 ns/day to well over 400 ns/day. Something near 1200 ppd.
Edit: It looks to me like only the WU in progress when we ran the update sped up. The next WU, a p3123, is folding at the same rate it did in v 1.0.
