g.skill F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ - uses Micron D9GMH chips. Most of these sticks have no problem reaching 1000Mhz with 2.2v or 2.3v.

$159.99 at Newegg right now. This is one of the better memory deals around at the moment.

You can get those ballistix at mwave for 171 no rebate, if you don't want to wait for a mir as well.

Whoa I was just at mwave and saw the same ballistix for $131! They have a $40 rebate form, unless the listed price is after rebate? $131 would be a really crazy price.

:bang head I ordered 2 days before they offer a $40 rebate. Just my luck.

I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY!

ddr2-800 does NOT run at 800mhz, it runs at 400mhz. ddr2-1000 does NOT run at 1000mhz, it runs at 500mhz.

thank you. :)

But for all intents and purposes, when speaking colloquially, we're talking about the effective speed, not the actual speed.

the "effective" speed can mislead newbies. i have had to answer this question more times than i can count on all of my appendages: "why is my ddr2-800 only running at 400mhz!?? it must be defective!!".

when we talk about FSB speeds, we say 266fsb, or 400fsb, or 500fsb. we don't say 1066fsb, 1600fsb or 2000fsb.

also, the "effective" speed does not change the actual speed. no matter what, ddr2-800 runs at 400mhz, and to say that it runs at 800mhz is factually wrong.

:)

True. And we like the facts. :)

This has to be the best DDR2-800 bargain right now, if not the best DDR2 bargain overall.

the hzs are still d9gmh.they switched to elpida last year and then switched back to d9gmh again.<---verified with the gskill rep at xs personally.
mwaves prices on the ballistix are very very nice right now.all d9gmh btw.the new ballistix 8500s are getting some amazing clocks right now.

Crucial Value 2* 1GB D9GMH without heatspreaders, 2.2V @ 1075 5-5-5-12. I'm still testing it, works like charm.
