I was just at newegg.com and I was looking around for components to use to build my new computer. Well, anyway, I want a pretty high quality video card (because that can also affect speed of loading up graphics) so I took a look.

All of the nicely priced video cards were only 32mb cards. I was kind of looking for one that was at least 64mb. But then the price jumps like $50. Any suggestions/comments?

I recall gf2 didn't gain all that much from the extra ram. Certainly, the MXs saw no change at all.

The extra ram is used for textures in preference to the system RAM (a.k.a. AGP aperture), so I guess having a puny :) 32Mb might affect you in brand new titles where there are more textures than pixels...or some serious super-sampling.

I don't think it's worth that much extra.
