Hey Team WTF:attn:

looks to me like their production went up slightly, but ya know that the 2.9years is only based upon their current 24 hour average, which is higher than usual. My 24/hr average is going down due to not getting as many good units. The nearer we get to passing them, the more accurate the forecast will be.

They are stepping it up. Time to fire up all those new systems that came with the price cut.

We need to knock off those millions. (97 of them)

Yup I dropped 1000ppd when the 08 and 09's hit my 6400. Its being replaced right now with a 6600 and I'll have another rig started this week to make up for the challenges going on. Hope to have that working within 2 weeks.

It no fun being so far out of the top 20ppd producers , that needs to change.:attn:

EDIT All done. Checking the times now.

I have all but shut down.

Server problems on the single core client of Linux has my queue sooooo backed up.

Only saving grace on that is I have 3 months to turn them in.

Hell I just might have to zip them & e-mail them out to get added. :bang head
How messed up is that?

DC Reactor coming online this pm, so Shell can't run that far. :p
Pic posted in other thread.

More to come? Hopefully soon. ;)

We have 2 Challanges coming up FAST !

I think we're getting preped for that and our points should shoot back up.

OCAU can run, but they CAN'T hide.

A lot of that backsliding has been due to Rubberband over on OCAU.

He's gone from 86 thousand points in December, all the way up to a projected 1.25 million by the end of the 30 days for this monthly interval.

That leaves just him alone, with a 1.16 million point increase per month.

This being their Fall down under, the big school districts on their team are back in high powered folding form , as well.

Not unexpected, given their history.

Given our history on T32, we'll continue to step up our folding power (probably largely through upgrades), throughout this Spring, Summer and Fall, and continue eating away at their point lead.

Next Winter, we'll take a HUGE bite out of that lead, when we can overclock more effectively, and they're back on holiday, with a lot of rigs shut down due to the Summer heat.

The projected dates are nice, but I've seen this before. The date wobbles all around, and only gets real close when the overtake is near or the points for each team are relatively unchanging.

A long-winded way of saying:

It's time to step it up another notch!

:burn: :burn: :burn:

one of the main reason for our team is the recent 2608/2609 that quite a good hit on our ppd. however, as Adak said, as long as we are keeping up our ppd and keep on adding/upgrading like many of us has planned/said during this spring/summer/fall, by winter, it's our time to really eating up all those millions between us!!

I'm not sitting still here even tho I haven't been as active in the forum as I was this week or two (been busy in real life), but I already put a e6420 in duty, and have a x3210 on it's way!! will add more later on too....!! :attn:

keep it up and fold like you steal it guys!!!!! :attn:

Concurrent with OCAU's (and H's) ramp up in production has been a steady decline in our active folders count

Don't be lulled by a coincidental increase in our avg ppd to ~ 1000 since the increase is most likely due in part to a loss of additional total production.

While everybody active here is trying to ramp up production, we are not ganing momentum I think due to a loss in active folders.

Not to minimize the need for more folders, but another possible reason behind the reduction in our overtake rate may be that if more of our folding power comes from smp than other teams, then in addition to the reduction in smp pointage with new projects, I think there has also been an improvement in the single core client wu's. So this may be benefiting the other teams more than us

Regardless of the reasons, we still need more folders and to contunue our existing upgrades/expansions

I have 2 more quads on the way so i am trying to do my part :)

30min tpf was killin me. Now the 6600 is in...hope to cut that in half, how the heck can 2mb v 4mb of cache make that much of a differnce?

My Dad used to say you buy a cheap tool you like it when you buy it and hate it when you use it. Good tools , you hate em when you buy em and luv um when you use them.

I'm not sure how that relates to folding or my poor clocking Asrock but its cache.(catchy):eh?:

I have all but shut down.
Hope you get that worked out, I liked seeing you two(Shel) out in front.

Have two e4400's coming up this weekend. Will take a fair amount of the weekend to find the max clock but they will be on line (all things being equal) by the end of the weekend. Have lost two psu's that were not up to the task (in the hotter weather) of keeping a gpu up. Lost one board due to one psu but can get the gpu back up on another board with a psu with either 30 amps on the 12v or a combined line 1 and line 2 of 30 amps on the 12v. Alas, tapped out so can't swing a psu. It is staying down for now.

Edit: Anyone got a spare psu?

It seems team members like you, LS, and other members, too many to mention here (you know who you are), have always done your part. I'll be eternally grateful for the information about folding and overclocking I got from you good people. So even though I have waited until Q3 for my quad I'm planning on getting another E6420 (I've had good luck with this chip) from the egg (hopefully not a L644G445 from Tenn.) I'm looking forward to this contest for some kind of monkey paw or something, so keep on folding and may the best team win (Team 32 = best team) and OCAU we ain't even close to giving up :attn: Remember the old sayin's "you don't get mad you get even"and "payback is a motherf*****". :D

Looking to increase my ppd by 1k (or more) shortly. The new Opty is not making me as happy as I wish it would... but I'll get a decent OC on it. I know it's got more in it, I just think heat is holding me back.

So... I need a new experiment... maybe some water cooling. :D

Na. Everyone blames the French for EVERYTHING. Ever seen the flick Dumb and Dumber (1994)? Rent it tonight!

Lloyd: What the hell are we doing here, Harry? We gotta get out of this town!
Harry: Oh yeah, and go where? Where are we gonna go?
Lloyd: I'll tell you where. Someplace warm. A place where the beer flows like wine. Where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. I'm talking about a little place called Aspen.
Harry: Oh, I don't know, Lloyd. The French are a**holes.

Got one system up and folding. P5B e4400 at 3.2Ghz on air under Linux. First one, 2608 (jeez) with 18.5 tpf. Got 16 second superpi times but under my usual testing of 2 small and 2 large prime 95s all running at the same time for at least 30 mins, 3.2 was it. So she has been folding 2608 since late last night at 3.2. Now on to the second one.

Oh, for the cheap (er) Enhance PSU (500w 80+ at ewiz $69) the following:

3.3 - 3.26 (.04)
5.0 - 4.97 (.03)
12 - 11.98 (.02)

Those voltages are at idle, load, whatever. They will not move no matter what I do so even though they are a tad under they are very good in that they just will not move down no matter what I try/do. This pleases me. Now on to the second one, we shall see if it is the same.

As was mentioned previously, OCAU is not being hurt as much as we are by the newer (lower) SMP WU's.

We've become specialists, much to our benefit; but we now exult or grieve with every hiccup in the SMP WU's being given out.

They're also responding to our challenge, but we have met that, I believe. It's the SMP WU's having lower ppd, that's the big hurt for us.

By mid May we should have all hands on deck for the new builds that are just now being brought (or soon will be), on-line. That will give us a clearer picture of our strength relative to OCAU, since the lower SMP ppd is, I believe, a long term adjustment.

Sure hate to see that overtake date suddenly swing upward like that, though! :bang head

We ain't beat yet :eh?: I think by mid May (thanx Adak, I got that time thing from your previous post) we will see an uplift in points because a lot of new rigs are coming online (at least I hope so) I just ordered another E6600 to fold with 24/7 (yeah, I finally got off my butt and did something) although it may not be a big deal, it's something and an "old timer" (not age wise, folding wise) posted every point counts and I firmly believe that. :welcome: Moen!

What most would suggest for a dedicated Folding box is a Core2Duo w/4MB cache, pick your model number, that is if you don't wanna go Quad. ;) The GPU client produces well, but power draw and heat are a major issue. I have an x1900xt and I barely ever Fold on it b/c of those issues. There's just much more bang for your buck in the SMP client right now.

Obviously I don't know near as much as the "H" (harlam357) about folding and I would definitely listen to him and the other great folders on this team (Team 32).
I've never tried to fold with a x1900 card, in fact I don't even own a x1900 card, but when I first became addicted to folding I think I was using a AMD 3000+, that's how addictions are, you have a tendency to forget things. I don't know what cpu it would take to fold a straight client (32 bit), but I do know to use either SMP client (which seems to be the way to go right now) your cpu has got to be 64 bit capable (although I have heard of people using HT). You came to the right spot to ask questions Good luck

Oh yeah, welcome back breadman, we can use all the help we can get. 1st it's the Chimp challenge and then it's OCAU

Can we blame the French for the lack of English tourism in the USA?

Why do so few British visit The USA each year?
Well, I have the answer. Try this...
