...both in "Official" and "OE-A" varieties.

I've known about the OE-A version for quite a while now but didn't want to post anything until I installed it myself. (I hadn't updated since 3.03 OE-B.)

Fixed a problem I had been having with My Bookmarks. (Would give an error and say it couldn't save bookmarks.)

Loads much faster than 3.03.

Apparently PSPTV is hidden in there somewhere.

RSS podcasts don't screw up as often anymore.

Reports of some people having problems but it sounds like they didn't follow directions. Most consistent problem seems to be if you load your own background the recovery settings won't save, or if you change your recovery settings your background disappear. Again... it seems those people weren't flashing right, as there was also something about systems defaulting to Japanese and I haven't had that problem either.

you think its worth going from 3.03 OE-C to this?

I am still at 2.60... what things were added in the recent revisions?

Does 2.60 have the Sony PS1 emulator?

Nope. So that's one thing right there. Don't think podcasts work on 2.6 either... then again I never had 2.6. The PS1 stuff was introduced in 3.03.

Is it worth upgrading from 3.03 OE-C? Well... apparently there's some major bug in all the 3.xx firmwares that was fixed:

Security patch: Fixed a bug that has been in all 3.XX OE, that caused random data to be written to a location
in lcdc.prx or (in worst case) emc_sm.prx ram space.

And some of the PS1 games work better. And a problem I had with internet bookmarks was fixed.

Other than that... nothing new or revolutionary.

Edit: Actually the more I think about it, the more I like it. It just seems more... efficient to me. Load times are faster, and I'm sure a million bugs were fixed in between 3.03, 3.30 OE-A, 3.30 OE-A2... and 3.40 OE-A. And I haven't noticed any bad side effects at all. I basically updated because I was bored, but I'm glad I did.

To the person with 2.60... If it's the "official" firmware... DON'T UPGRADE. Downgrade to 1.5 and then upgrade to one of the OE (alternative) firmwares. Just do a search for a downgrader and another seach for the OE updates.
