I just found out how to see my active processor count on the F@H page. The way I understood, it counts the dual core as 2 processors. I have and have had for quite some time 4 dual core machines folding 24/7 and my count is 6 processors when by my count it should be 8 processors  If this is a dumb question just ignore it :eh?:

Are you talking about the rigs in your sig? If you are only running 4 SMP clients, then it should show up as only 4 processors. If you happen to be running 8 Uniprocessor clients, then it would show up as 8 processors.

Stanford counts clients not processors.

I'm sorry Mac, like I said I'm good at asking dumb questions, please just ignore the dumber or obvious ones. Yeah, I was talking about the rigs in my sig, each rig is running a single Linux SMP client. What confused me is on the F@H page I had like 6 active processors, maybe they're counting my X2 4200+ that the board went down on a week or two ago (I can't remember when) and a "fire breathing" PD 805 that I was "dicking" around with a little time ago. (so 6 rigs counting them makes sense, it's just me that doesn't :) ) So, just off the wall a dual core chip counts as 1 processor ? (D'oh, makes sense to me  )

You are correct about the Dual core chip count as 1 client.

Isn't it one client install on an SMP rig?
No changing machine id #'s there right?

 you're good.

(i think this is right)

Is your X2 still folding, or is it shut down? Your 7 day processor count should be 4 and then if you've had to reinstall Windows, clients, etc. on that X2, that would mess up your 30 day processor count to 5 or 6 depending on what client(s) you were running on the X2 at the time.

I'm in a bit of a quandary with my X2 4200+, you know how it is always wanting everything at once  I wanted a quad core Q6600, then I read a post on this forum by someone I respect, the opinion was the x3210 is probably better than the E6600 for OC'ing (I know it's the "luck of the draw"), then I got a E6420 and I liked that chip, easy for us "noobs" to OC'. Now I've decided to get another E6420 or maybe another E6600 (see what I mean about "bein' butthole deep in alligators :bang head ) Anyway, to make a long story short I want to get another board for my X2 and get it back foldin' (especially for this contest thing)

Edit: Thanks everybody for the quick responses to my not too smart question :) I'm tellin' ya, this has got to be the best forum on the "Net" along with having the best folding team on the "Net" GO TEAM 32
