So I'm not liking my HSF much, I've got the stock one from my retail athlon. I'm lookin at it though and it doesn't have actual individual fins, just solid lines. Someone help me out, I'm thinking about sawing into the aluminum to make it have actual fins, which will give me more surface area, but less mass. Is the trade off worth it?

dude, just buy a new one!
lots of heatsinks around are made with long thin fins and they perform well, best thing you can do to your heatsink is get a better fan and better themal paste, then a better heatsink

Where's your OCer spirit? It's all about what you can get for nothin. I could go out and buy an XP 1800+ and it would be faster than what I got, or I could OC what I got.
