I have a Gigabye ds3 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128042) right now. Will i notice a big difference if i put my Audigy 2 in? Thanks

Here is a good test, have a friend blind test you. See if you can, without knowing which is playing, differentiate between the 2. Sorry that it's not an answer, but it will answer your question. If your board isn't noisy and affecting the DAC's I'd guarantee you couldn't reliably pick one from the other double blind.

It would help to know what speakers you're using, whether it's a stereo/2.1/5.1/etc set, or if you're using a receiver/speaker combo. If you're just using basic computer speakers you probably won't be able to notice any difference in audio quality.

I assumed it was audio quality as well, but he may mean gaming and frame rates etc etc. Which again may or may not be noticeable (or even measurable) depending what you play and what video settings etc. And again there's no guarantees, obviously the audigy and x-fi win out more often than not.....but I've seen them lose out to onboard as well. Kind of why I vaguely suggested a blind test, pop one in and if you can't (or can) reliably tell the difference there's your answer.
