In ubuntu, how do I download the SMP folding client? I've tried
wget http://www.stanford.edu/~kasson/fold... SMP Linux.tgz
and that doesn't work. :(

Wow  , I've downloaded and installed the Linux SMP client twice in as many days with no problems  I know this may be obvious, but have you followed the SMP FAQ's exactly  Just be sure, if you're using 6.10 you need the "32 bit libs". :)
I've even got a E6300 Linux SMP'ing like a "mad rabbit" in Mephis 64 (the program already had the 32 bit libs)
Edit: Good call Mac  I missed that :bang head

Use wget http://folding.stanford.edu/release/FAH_SMP_Linux.tgz
Use wget http://folding.stanford.edu/release/FAH_SMP_Linux.tgz
Yep, that has always worked for me.

WTG Ned!
I have my 2 Pent D's using linux but I haven't had the guts to do it on my main pc(E6420) yet. So I sticking with WinSMP on that for now. It probably means less pointage but its more convenient for now.

Good to hear you got it working, more points for Team 32 makes me smile. :)
When I've installed the SMP client in ubuntu I've just downloaded it through firefox, then doubleclick the downloaded archive on the desktop, move mpiexec and fah to the desktop, then open a Terminal window and execute the command from the desktop directory. It's worked everytime, pretty easy (this is in 6.06 Dapper Drake).
