How do you guys feel about this ram Im about to get it to go with a new motherboard (cant get my old mobo and current ram on the same page) evga 680I is there anything better for the money or is this decent enough?>

^^^^^ How much are you paying for that OCZ?^^^^^^

They are a lot of good deals on ram lately so, it is hard to tell.

237.99 CND plus taxes about 217 USD plus tax.....I cannot order from newegg since im located in canada but here is list of my options perhaps you can help me out....

OCZ (OCZ2FX800C42GK) PC2-6400 2X1GB Flex XLC Dual Channel Kit W/Hybrid Cooling for 229.99

OCZ (OCZ2N1066SR2GK) DDR2 1066MHz PC2-8500 2GB (2x1024MB) SLI-Ready Edition Dual Channel Kit for 237.99
OCZ (OCZ2P8002GK) DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Platinum XTC 2GB (2x1024MB) Dual Channel Kit for 183.99

OCZ (OCZ2RPR10662GK) DDR2 1066 Reaper Heat-pipe HS (2x1024) Dual Channel Kit for 257.99
OCZ (OCZ2SOE9002GK) DDR2 PC2-7200 2GB kit (2x1024) Dual channel Special Ops Edition 900MHz for 183.99
Im looking to get the best overclockability and timings with my E6300
Upgrading the mobo from gigabite ds3 to evga 680i

Since you can run the memory unlinked in a 680I I'd go with the DDR2-800 PC2-6400 Platinum XTC @ 183.99

Some of the 680I boards don't support anything higher than DDR2-800 anyways - keep that in mind too.

Happy Hunting!

I have this memory and it works great on my board. I can bench at 480 Mhz 1T on the memory 4-4-4-8 2.25v.

the one i was looking at supports up to 1200mhz basically whats the advantages of the platinum pc6400 does it overclock or perform the best? is there a performance increase if they are linked? I probably (99%) will be ugrading to quad in around september when the price drops a bit? I just want to get the best memory now so i am set untill the quad core comes in so i dont have to waste money on memory again and it doesnt matter if its 183 or 254 to me if its goint to make a long run difference work better with my new mobo and perform well with the quad and good for overclocking. if the platinum will do all that as good as the other options i will go for that tomorow

the platinum is good stuff but the 8500 is great stuff.the platinum probably uses promos or elpida ics which isnt bad but definately not as good as the d9gmh in the 8500s.id get the 8500 for the 6300.it would be a perfect longterm fit for your rig.
