I will be using it for typeing stuff up, surfing the Web, using Widgets, checking E-Mail, and some other small stuff. I do not think that I will be playing any games on it. but I was going to Format the HDD and put XP PRO on it. and I was also going to just leave the 512MB RAM in there for a while until I want to upgrade it. and I might get me a Wirless Router also. would this be compatable? And could I get like a Bluetooth USB thing to work on it? I am not sure if I will be me a Bluetooth thing yet or not. but that will be down the line. so please post your thoughts. thanks

1gb would be better for xp. But it sounds nice for what you want to do and the price.

How much range did it give you? or about how much? because I dont think that I will be too far away from the Router.

10 feet feet was 1-2 bars 20-30 feet it didn't connect. 3 other laptops had full connection 20-30 feet away.

If you don mind a bigger screen the everex xt5000t is awesome for 700 n officemax.com
It has a tl50 x2 proc, a gig of ram, vista (you can take it off as i see you will be instaling xp) 7600 go graphics if games ever wanted, and a 100gb hard drive. Not shabby!

You can just download them from acers website if they have it.

Sounds quite reasonable for the price! However, I'm with you about installing XP Pro because there's no need to use Vista at the moment. I'll take performance over desktop icons with shadows any day.

It sounds like a good deal for what you're going to do. Also the Acer laptop that I have has excellent wireless connectivity and I use XP Pro on it. The only problem that I've had with it is getting the wireless to work with ubuntu but it doesn't sound like you're going to have a problem with it.
