HE sure did sqeeze out ever drop those cards had to offer didnt he. I think this might be worth a try but I would say ymmv and I dont see long life span doing this to the low end ram found on these.

and considering an 8800GTS 320Mb will pull more than 7000 at stock clocks without breaking a sweat, the 8600 seris is a joke.

I want to see what an 8500gt will do. That one could be a sweet budget card if it can come anywhere close to its bigger brothers clockspeed potential.

interesting but it requires some extreme modding to get that

Whats extreem about a copper cooler and a slight voltage increase?

Hey!

Just for the record my gt8600 wont push past 13000 3d marks ('03) because of my crappy Asrock P4VM890 with a pentium 3ghz HT at 800FSB

If only I had the performance of my (tears flowing) Abit ic7G - even a 2ghz northwood is faster in that board.

In fact, Asrock are Sh*t.

Anyone any tips on overclocking my board? The audio crackles on a 5fsb overclock.

At the same time, I read a review that someone put an 8800GTS in the same board and was "amazed at the performance".

Anyone got a 3.6ghz 4mb cache Extreeeeeeeeeeme edition 478 chip for sale?

lol

cheers!

Tips? Get an add-in sound card :)
What are you doing gaming with onboard audio in the first place? You can get a killer deal on a SoundBlaster Live! or even an Audigy in the classifieds... Turtle Beach Santa Cruz cards are also good and cheap. An add-in card will stand up to the OC'ing a TON better in most cases.
