Ive been having a lot of problems with my computer lately, so I decided to be safe and just run at stock speeds for now. But Im going to a LAN in 2 weeks and well, my cards an embarresment. The other day I download ati tray tools and clicked find max for ram (Im lazy) and instead of overclocking, it was underclocking, and by a lot (~20mhz every cycle). I tried to do it manually, setting the ram from 400mhz to 403mhz, and ati tray tools set it back down to 360mhz. I tried reinstalling it, and the same problem. So I uninstalled it once more and installed atitool. When I clicked find max for ram, instead of underclocking, the screen just went blank. I havent tried the gpu yet, but any ideas? (its in my sig, but its an asus x1600 pro 512meg edition)

Have you tried ATI Tool 0.27 Beta1?

I know how to read ;) Thats why I asked about that version specifically. It is a Beta from W1zzard designed to OC the 1950 Pro which is not supported in any other version, there's a chance it might work for you.

Well, it works in the sense that it overclocks, but the artifact scanner and find max things are dead (just tried it, it shot the ram up to 450mhz, started to artifact like crazy, and the artifact scanner still said 0 found). Guess its back to the old way (basically overclocking a few mhz and playing random games for 1/2 an hour)

Well, you probably dont want to here this, but:
stock: GPU 500mhz, RAM 391mhz (probably supposed to be 400mhz) atitool average framerate 179fps CS:S video stress test 55fps @ recommended settings

Overclocked: GPU: 610.2mhz RAM:420.4mhz atitool average framerate: 192fps CS:S video stress test 75fps@recommended sttings

CS:S recommended settings: Model, Texture, Shader and Shadow detail all high, AA 4x, Water reflect world, color correction enabled, anisotropic filtering 8x, HDR enabled when available, wait for verticle sync disabled, resolution 1024x768. Since the refresh rate of my monitor is 60hz, Im gonna change these (probably fine tune it untill it hits my target range of ~50fps)

Ok, my third post in a row which i know is not good, but Im about to put my foot through this thing. I just checked atitool, and it did the same thing as before (it set the core to 400mhz and the ram to a blazing fast 175 1/2 mhz) So I installed the 0.26 version and it didnt work. Now I just got through playing about 2 hours of BF2 but I doubt thats the problem.
