Problem with video card

I just got a nvidia fx5500 256mb card. it all looked fine but when i went to a black screen i see red dots, now this is getting worse now i get blue dots all over my screen on most pages. plus sometime a image wont show up.

any help would be great just want to check and see if it's setting thats wrong or the card is broken.

Thought i also would add i have it pluged in to the DVI with a VGA to DVI converter

Sounds like the problem I had with my 7900GT, I was told the memory was leaking and causing artifacting to occur, according to eVGA Tech Support.

How did you sort it.

I ordered an eVGA 8800GTS :P It's nothing you can fix, just... Card dying pretty much.
