I found i real cheap geforce 8600 card and wondering if i should get it as opposed to the EVGA 512-P2-N635-AR GeForce 7950GT 512MB

its from xpertvision full name :XPERTVISION 256MB GeF 8600GT TV/2xDVI PCI-E SLI

should i go XPERTVISION or EVGA?

I would say go with EVGA, simply because if the brands cheap, then it might fail and you might end up buying a new one anyway. Thats just my opinion though.

I don't know the brand either, but I have just read some reviews about their 7100, 7600 and 6200 cards..
Performance of all these cards was quite good, they got a 29% overclock without any modding on the 7600 and performance scaled linear to the clock speed.

All three cards seemed to have very quite, but efficient cooling solutions (the 6200 was passively cooled)

that's a small round up of what I've read..
the reviews, apart from the 6200, are all in german, though, but I'll post the links anyways...

sounds quite good to me..

[EDIT]
Read another review that was less positive, so you might want to be carefull.
A review on your card doesn't seem to exist, but personally I wouldn't really go with a DX10 card with only 256MB.. But that's my plain opinion

mmm, i would like to get the 8800, but i'm not sure,... it still does support dx10 the 7950 doesn't...

I heard of em here in the uk and i think they may be german and we all know german engineering is world renowned, just because you aint heard of em dont mean they aint good just look at galaxy, small company, superb products.

My advice would be to try it out if it is significantly cheaper and let us know how it performs.

get what ever is easiest to get... but In my expierence off name brands pretty much go hand in hand with the good ole saying of, you get what you pay for. Its not like EVGA has gotten a good rep just becasue of the name... its cus they make supurbe products.
