hi,

Right now iam using Linksys WRT54 Wireless-G and it does not give much signal beyond 300ft. I need to upgrade the hardware so it can cover up to 600ft (the house is on 5-acres rural area).

I have considered to replace with some strong MIMO or Pre-N routers: Netgear WNR834B RangeMax Next Wireless and Linksys WRT300N

And also thought about just adding Range Extender either with Antennas Or
Linksys WRE54G Wireless-G Range Expander

If someone have experienced with the above scenario please give me some guideline. My budget is $150 and it is good if the hardware is available in Fry's store.

thank you

my goal is to get 3-bar (out of 5) wireless signal consistently at range 500-600ft and iam a happy camper.

Well You can that much range with a 802.11 connect. There is WAY TO much interference. your best bet is to get some cat 5 wiring and run access points all around your house it will give you a far better connection. yes i know its pricey but if you buy in bulk a bunch of G access points are better than 1-2 overpriced N+antennas. Wait till there is 802.16 ( think thats what it was)
