Well, Hi all, I'm new to this forum. Have a little question that needs a little help. I have run a few different m'boards w/ the Pent 233MMX chip. Whenever I set the bus speed up to 75MHz and make it a 266, the pc will reset itself right before boot every time. Now, the are a few times it doesn't, but then I get a Windows Protection Error even. After I restart, it does the same, that is if it don't reset itself. I am running 98MB of SDRAM and have run different hard drives and motherboards with the same problems. I also had the same problem with the Cyrix 6x86MX. Is it just that I need an AMD chip? I don't want to hear "Buy a newer PC, because that isn't an option at this point. I truly believe that overclokers are very smart people, and hope that maybe one of you can help me. Thanks alot in advance. :)

hello and welcome!

it sounds like you are just not capable at that old of a system to go that high... i do not know thoise chips at all but maybe teh chip is locked but your bios isn't and that is cuasing the problem - try flashing your cmos and uping the fsb .... to flash your cmos you gotta remove the battery for like 30 seconds or so...

good luck!
