8800 Ultra New card coming in this line up.
Well some might or might not know, that there will be a upgrade to the 8800 Ultra.
The over clocked version not the one that is out or will be out in the next couple of days.
Heads up the price for 8800 Ultra OC2 might be named will be about 50 to 75 bucks more then the Ultra that is $820 bucks.
When I have more details I will let you all know.
Plus the price wars will start in the next 7 to 10 days....
Sit tight and hold off on buying the ultra wait until the war starts..

Oh yeah. Instead of building a completely new system, buying an HDTV or paying rent, I was going to get an 8800 Ultra. :)
I don't think you'll have any problem getting most people to "hold off" on buying an Ultra. And by "holding off" I mean never buying one, ever.
why would anyone buy an ultra for $800-$900?
we have the gtx at $550 which can be clocked to faster than an ultra.
ultra is a joke, maybe if it was $600 it would be viable.
the new OC will be unreal, can not show you anything but its crazy..

these high end cards are only for the people who need to have the absolute best. We're talking high level benchmarkers and folks with money to burn.

although i am perfectly content with my 8800gts... as i can run bf2 max settings @ 1024x768 w/ vsync, tripple buffering, 8xAA and 8xAF with a constant 85fps! and im not even ocd...
i have no intentions of updating my awsome computer anytime soon... its still top of the line and its over 6 months old!!!

Hmmm....
I was hoping that this would be cheaper. Maybe I'll just wait and see. My 7900 GTX is not holding me back right now. I bet this drives the prices down on "plain" 8800 GTX's. :)

My plan: buy 2x 8800GTX's and SLi them, then upgrade once a new single-card solution can trump my SLi. Just hope 8800GTX prices go for a dive from the Ultra.

How do you think he gets paid? By selling to people what they dont need.
800-900 for the small performance increase is insane. So will BFG slap a waterblock on one and charge $1200?

I didn't realize his livelihood was connected to selling computer parts.

Does anyone actually pay more for stuff because it's black? I thought that was a lame marketing ploy for the Macbooks and the Xbox 360 elite. Will anyone actually be swayed to pay the ridiculous price for one of these for a black PCB? If you are, then you deserve what you get..... a way overpriced card :sn:

I wouldn't call it a marketing ploy if the products are selling very well like the Xbox 360 Elite is currently.

lol, these manufacturers of electronic entertainment devices are going to drive OCD people insane and broke. I still have my single x1900xt and I can play oblivion fine full res on a 1080p lcd screen with allmost everything still on high just no AA. I can see why people want these new dx10 cards but **** theres a new revisions coming out and price drops before the first dx10 game even comes out. I wonder if the gtx ultra is really just a psychological experiment done by nvidia to guage how much they can gouge out of people.

Agreed. I have an 8800GTX and the only game I play is WoW. I had money to burn a few months ago, what can I say?

You may be right, IMO I would say more July...
Ok just to give you heads up...
You may or may not know EVGA and BFG have been testing over clocking the new card, and have been very happy with the results and the stability of the new memory.
The new cards should be out shortly, the prices from what I was told for the new cards will be 40 bucks more then they are at now...
again the prices will not touch the $1000 mark, this is what Nvidia has said, and there should be a price drop also again this might or might happen...
