I'm not getting credit for anything on either machine. No matter how many times I try to correct the client.cfg it ends up reverting to
[settings]
username=Anonymous
team=0
userid=1AECC716175809C7
asknet=no
local=1

[http]
active=yes
host=localhost
port=8080
usereg=yes

Don't know what else to do since editing the file has had no effect so far.

If you are using the graphical ver. then right click on the icon in the tray. then click on config.

If you are using the console ver. then you have to run it with the config switch(I do not know the right syntax, but someone will)

Hope this helps. Fold on!!!

Edit: What program are you using to edit the config? I have read that you should only use notepad or it will lose its formating and won't work.

think I may try the graphical version... if I edit my info into the client file

and then start up the program is changes the client.cfg file to this

[settings]
userid=628BAE614B617946

[http]
active=no

f@h uses the winblows registry so you might want to clean out the keys it leaves there. just an idea. im usin the graphical client. works ok.

I couldn't even get the graphical version to install for some reason. The console still won't give me credit. I'm shutting down as I don't care to give my work to the default team. I wish I had enver upgraded from ver 2.12. It was doing just fine :mad: Anyone with any ideas? Nothing I do to the client.cfg file seems to stick. Every time it starts up it retrieves an new ID and erases my user info

I'm tired and I find this utterly stupid. It doesn't even ask the usual questions for your first-time setup.

Go to the shortcut you have for your folding client, I usually put mine in the startup folder so it starts whenever I start my comp. Now right click on the shortcut, go to properties. Within properties you will something that says target, it should look similar to this "C:\Folding\Folding 1\FAH2Console.exe" take that and add -config to the end so it looks like this "C:\Folding\Folding 1\FAH2Console.exe" -config click apply, click ok. Now start it up again and it should ask you for all the above information. I have noticed the new client defaults to Anonymous. Once you have filled out the config process properly change the target line back and you should be all done.

If you need more help let me know.

SpeeDj is right.
A note on manually editing the text in the file-
I have successfully edited the client.cfg with notepad or other text editors that dont change the format, but it's possible to mess up the client.cfg with Folding2 by using a text editor, even one that doesn't change the format of the client.cfg. Some others in the Folding2 group have messed up their client by manually editing with notepad. Wordpad is completely out of the question as it changes the format of the document.

thanks wonder if Stanford knows it's defaulting to anon? They should really fix that.

They know. It's a "feature". That's what they said anyway.

SPEEDj -> Thanks a million for the help with getting the config to work. Now myself and more importantly overclockers.com will get credit for my Duron750@1064 WU's. I was really frustrated when it wouldn't work but now I am psyched. The forums rule!:D
